Hi

How old is the bike? Over 10 years (I think) and it is pretty easy. Pretty much an MOT, certificate of age and then pay a first registration fee.

Newer and it becomes a whole lot more complicated with an SVA type inspection or certificate of conformity.

All the best

Keith

Careful though, it'll have left hand drive indicators and handlebar.

Also as an Italian registration it'll have 6 reverse gears and the horn will be permanently stuck on.

Just a little heads-up for you.

What make and model is it, and was it ever a UK-approved bike?

I only ask cos if it's a grey import (bike available on the UK market but sourced from elsewhere) insurance should be no problem.

If it's a bike that was never marketed as a UK model, check with your insurer as you might find that it doesn't appear on their databases and you have to jump through hoops to get it insured. Go on, ask me how I know this...... Sad

A grey import is a bike that wasnt meant for the uk, a parallel import is an import that is the same as a bike available in the uk.

Hi

Suspect in that case you will have to get a certificate of conformity (probably difficult, given that BMW now own them and didn't when your bike was made) or do the current SVA test. SVA is likely to be FAR harder if the bike is non standard.

All the best

You had me going for a bit there.
Right hand clutch, left hand throttle would be interesting to adjust to. Laughing Laughing
