Which film were you watching when it kicked in?

Once my PS3 started to show me that message I bought a standalone player (Sony BDP S480) and use that for all my avi and mkv needs. PS3 hasn't been turned on for about 3 months now.

Snip: Oh yeah, but even the latest update for that player include cinavia, so I'm refusing to apply it.

It's happened twice now, in two nights. Ghost Rider last night, and Woman In Black tonight now. Gonna have to buy a cyclone micro now I think. Fucking Sony, the cunts.

I just read up on what it is.

Another reason to download films is what it is.

Sadly, that seems to be what it fucks up.

I'd not heard about it either until this thread, googled it, and it seems to be an encoded signal that survives ripping to .avi so if you try and play a downloaded film with a device that has this cinavia stuff it will watermark the picture.

So, if your current player works fine, don't apply any updates and as Hetzer says if needed get a TV with a usb port as the cinavia seems to only be implemented on Blu-Ray players.

Old Thread Alert!

The last post was made 13 years, 341 days ago. Instead of replying here, would creating a new thread be more useful?
