Need some help, as some of u might know my beloved 2010 R1 was nicked early May (reg PK12 JUF). MCE have consistently tried to screw me.... Not surprised... My 2nd (the wife) took the finance for me as a birthday slash wedding gift.( I think she just did it so I'd def marry her.. Lol!)..

So I'm still battling it utopia with MCE and the underwriter. My misus calls the Finance company and turns out they say to her don't worry if the insurance company don't pay out the whole £11k the bike is worth, just get as much as u can and we'll pay the rest... Now as some of u know, u can't always trust the words that eminate from ur misus's mouth... Which brings me to my question.. Is GAP Insurance standard with finance agreements with the likes Blackhourse?? I'm thinkin she may have been misinformed.

"Standard" changes with the weather. You've got whatever contract that you can prove you've got. Read your policy documents, we don't have access to them.

What Rogerborg said. I'd probably ask them to send a letter out in the post confirming that in writing. Once I had that I'd then feel happier about settling with the insurance company.

I'd also ask for it in writing and signed.

I've been offered it as a 'product' every time I've bought a new bike or car. I've never taken it so was unsure if it's part of the finance or a third party product.

Looking at the Blackhorse website, it's certainly something they do;

Thanks mate, Was looking at that very page on the train cage on the way into work this morning. I'm hoping I got it standard with my policy concidering it was a 0%apr agreement .i.e. we both own the bike until I've finished paying them for it. Common Karma !!

Just remember the finance co is jointly liable for the bike...

That finance co can work for you as they have a vested interest in the bike...

I would tell them that you know of another R1 that have been bought from the same dealer, both on finance and then stolen within a short period.
They may find this interesting and take it further...
