I have a taster session on Tuesday, then will book my CBT when I'm there.
I'm so woried that I won't like it Sad. I was a very nervouse learner driver and I think my lack of confidence and expierence on a bike might throw me.

My plan is to complete my CBT, then take some lessons then decide ( with advice ) to keep doing lessons untill i get to test standard or do an intensive.

My hubby plans on doing the direct access intensive. We bought some kit today, I randomly put my helemt on and say " vrooooom " lol

Don't try and push those feelings away. Just remain calm and go at your own pace. Biking isn't for everyone, but the best thing you can do is LET yourself enjoy the day and you'll know whether it's for you or not.

CBTs easy and if you fail too meet standards, its often free to do it again. Its just training so relax Smile

On putting the helmet on... We all gotta play with new toys! Now get them boots on while in the house... Gotta wear them in right? Smile

I want to Ride a Motorbike! Where Do I start?

All you need to know really....

Tell me more about CBT?

And just for the warm feeling so there's nothing to surprise you:-

What do you DO on CBT?

Meanwhile FOR hubby, get him to ponder this:-
What is 'DAS'?
Intensive DAS Courses' What's the score?

Highest death-rate on the road is amongst DAS Newbies.

Your 'idea' of doing your CBT and seeing how you go, IS actually the wisest way to go.

Another adage I oft offer

125's, Are they worth it? (TIME ON A TIDDLER IS RARELY WASTED!)

If you are doing it together; get a pair of 125's, take your time, have some fun, and get some early miles experience in...

If he does DAS and gets a big-bike, he's only going to be frustrated you are on a tiddler and are holding him up, you are likely to not go out because of holding him back.... if you are both on tiddlers, you are going to be learning TOGETHER, and learning from each other, which could be a very good way to go..... your caution tempering his impatience, his over-confidence bolstering your under-confidence... could be good for both of you.

i'm putting pressure on myself cause I WANT TO LOVE BIKING!
i know i'm going to be gutted if it's not for me, the hubby
is gonna do his test too so worst comes to the worst ill be his pillion passanger.
I just wish i could play on a wee bike in a big empty field and get the feel of it and make an arse of myself by falling of in private lol

There's a lot to take in on the CBT, so don't sweat it if you feel like you're getting swamped. Imagine trying to learn to drive a car in 1 day! Plan on coming back for a 2nd go at it, the if you get it done in a day, that's a bonus.

I get where you're coming from about practicing on your own. Look at it this way, after hubby is CBT'd up, he can get a 125 and take you up the industrial estate for some illegal back alley action. Shifty

Once it clicks, you will enjoy it, it's just a question of how long it takes you to get there.

I got my bike at the end of April, after 30 years of not being on a bike.

There have been one or two occasions of despondency, BUT I persevered.

I have now done my CBT, Theory, and MOD 1, (with no paid for training) and have my MOD 2 booked up.

Loving it, and taking it step by step.

Went to Weston S Mare bike night on thursday, 538 bikes turned up, some lovely examples and plenty of inspiration for when I pass my MOD 2 Smile)

Oh, one tip, if you want it to rain, buy a motorcycle Smile)
