The new market is way down. 125s and scooters are selling well to cash strapped commuters, and geezers are buying litre+ "adventure sports" and a few of the litre supersports, but everything in the middle is circling the drain. Tourers and sub-litre supersports in particular are taking a pounding.
Used bikes, dunno, what are you selling and for how much? Bikes that are for sale axiomatically haven't sold yet. Have you looked at eBay closing prices for your bike? Advanced search, "include completed listings".
Never mind about "due" good weather, we've had half a decade of pretty miserable springs and summers and this one is going the same way. This year has had the wettest April on record, and June is now in the running for that honour too. Are you going to sell a bike while golf ball sized hailstones bounce off of it?
I'd go on, but the sun has just come out and I need to try and get to work before the next deluge kicks off. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

What are you selling & for how much?
These figures for new reg's are very accurate & highly respected :

I've never come across respected figures for 2nd hand sales but I'm led to believe that dealers are desperate for good quality, 2nd hand showroom stock. Bikes aren't being traded in, viscious circle there, so they are turning to the auctions, even Autotrader & (spits) eBay to find stock.
Prices for good, used, desirable motorcycles are going up & they haven't peaked yet ! ____________________ "I don't hate the Welsh, I pity them. Even the Scots & the Irish look down on them." Anon. |
