Been biking about 1 year on various 125's (L plate warrior) having done my CBT last year.
I have owned 3 bikes so far (a chinese thing, a YBR125 and a vespa twist n go)
Although the Vespa was good for commuting ( i live in surrey but work in london) i missed the gears (?) so have been looking at a Honda CM 125 advertised on ebay (its local to me) but noticed that it has a drum front brake. Having never ridden anything with a drum front brake is there anything i should be aware of compared to a disc brake?
Also does anyone know if i can get an A2 restricted license using the CM125 as i cant find it listed on the DVLA website (https://www.direct.gov.uk/prod_consum_dg/groups/dg_digitalassets/@dg/@en/@motor/documents/digitalasset/dg_197021.pdf)

The CM125 is the 'factory custom' version of the old CB125 Super-Dream, with the lower spec 'Benley' engine with single carb and 10bhp.
So, about as powerful as a CG125 As heavy as a 125/200 Benley, and as 'complex'/demanding of maintenence as a CB125
Became the 'Rebel' and basis of SO many of the chinky cruisers

Drum brake up front is nothing to be too bothered about, if cable & drum properly serviced. Other than it implies an 'older' model, maybe even very early pints ignition one.

These are NOT well regarded or valuable bikes. They make 'useful' super-miser eccono-learners, and you ought to be able to get a test on one, its full 125 and ought to meet spec req's, and DSA's latest comment is that they are going to work by exception from now, so UNLESS they have evidence its not test eligible, you can test on it.

I would NOT pay more than £500 for a CM125 Rebel, and even at that money, it would have to be in pretty sparkling condition, or there are much 'better' bikes for similar cash, or just a little more.
