It looks lovely but it just seems like Willy waving to me.

I've used carbon fibre in quite a few situations, I've raced almost fully carbon rc cars and currently own a carbon framed mountain bike.

It just seems a bit pointless on a 125 unless you going to be racing it and you want to eek every bit of power to weight.

Or your a bit of a tart with very deep pockets.

Also small bits of damage are a pita to repair and on naked weave like this will make it look like shite.

Looks alright. But what's the point in weight saving on a 250, for that sort of money or effort you could get a bigger bike.

Different though Thumbs Up

Weight saving fairings on a hyo? Could start by buying a smaller bike!

It looks ok, but I'm amazed how quickly CF has gone from exclusive material only used on hypercars to quite chavy and seen on every Korean bike / Vauxhall nova in Southend!

Little bit extra gets you the 650 one. They use the same engine that is in the SV650 just tuned a little more.

TBF that doesn't look as shit as I thought it would.

Why anyone would spend that on a GT250r though is beyond me.

I don't think it's the same engine. You can't swap parts over that I'm aware of. It's a similar design from the same designers as the SV, made by a company that makes parts for Suzuki.

They look great in pure red. I definitely wouldn't splurge £3500 on a carbon 250 unless I had more money than sense.

You could also probably get a larger capacity bike that was actually smaller and weighs less stock Smile.
Or definitely get a 250 that weighs a fair bit less stock and makes a lot more power.

At least N30 started with a bike you can't get much better than.

Warped posting about bikes? Well, roll with it, let's see where it goes.

I do actually like the look of that, but it makes as much sense as sewing Dawn French into a Vivienne Westwood and rolling her down the catwalk.

Who would ever buy a motorcycle, which lasts only like 6-10k miles with these expensive fairings? Rolling Eyes

If this was something like ZXR250, then why not.

Oh, no the Hyo bashing has begun, and I'm sure all of you voicing your oh so solid opinions have direct experience? Or more likely you read it once in a forum, written by someone equally ill informed.

Exactly, SV650 gets seized and Hyosung 650 gets holes in pistons and bent valves. Laughing

So you got off a 1098 and found a 250 underpowered? Oh geez well we'll have to go out and get 1L+ bikes then!

If weight and power are your concerns on a purposefully low power machine then you've completely missed the point. Straight line speed is not the be all and end all of a bike, I'd much rather have fun.

And, as I've said many times, bikes like your 1098 or even my M750 cannot be ridden at the limit on the road, a hyo or kawa 250 can. It's much more fun to be at the limit than constantly reigning it in.

I'm guessing your 1098 spends nearly all of it's time on a track though and that you consistently put in almost perfect laps as power and weight are so important? Most certainly not a weekend warrior are you?

it's supposed to be a SPORTS bike, i'm comparing it's weight to my 1098

it's dangerous having a under powered heavy bike that looks sporty it's just pointless too, no need to take offence because you owned one, you never kept it did you and you'd probably never buy another one

when you say limits, what do you mean ? speed limits ? or cornering limits, because on a good day out you can easily make the most of a larger bikes ability in the corners

i have no interest in straight line speed, that's why i use my KTM a lot more than my ducati, i like corners, i like removing the etching and logos on the edge of the tyre.......

it's a fact that the hyosung 250r is MUCH heavier than it's competitors - don't take offence
