Equilibrium gets me when he first starts to feel... Not in the same way a sad part gets you but just sheer emotion.

Oh, and the film True Romance when Patricia Arquette and James Gandolffini have that interaction in the hotel room. Got to be the most moving and most brilliantly acted part I've ever seen, the rage is palpable.... love it!

This scene

I drove my other half mad when I read that book in bed, half the time I was laughing like a drain and then sobbing.

I've never been moved to tears by a film, book or anything else for that matter. I think I'm dead inside.

Rarely have I ever cried for a film or book apart from when I was younger, only book I ever cried at was reading Saving Private Ryan I was 7 years old. The way the book is written it really makes you feel like you are part of what they are going through (also get to know the characters a lot better than in the movie). In this instance I can actually understand why some books are better than the movies and this certainly is one of them.

There's more:

When Hazel gets shot in Watership Down and Bright Eyes is being sung.

When the wounded are singing Abide With Me at the end of A Bridge Too Far.

When they are playing Rodrigo's Concerto d'Aranjuez in Brassed Off.

Seeing as how we're all confessing, when I was a kid I cried at the end of reading Lord of the Rings.

I also almost blubbed at Titanic. Almost.
