Hi
I now have a chip in my visor thanks to a flying stone!! Going to get a new visor, but the question is what colour/tint? I don't really want to have to carry diff one with me 'just in case'. Yellow looks good or what about a legal tint? Advantages/disadvantages of either.

Thanks

Si

I've got a black visor for the rare days of sun and a clear one for the rest of the time, I've got one of those oxford belt holder things which does the job storing the other one. Main reason for carrying clear one all the time is if police stop me I can just swap over

I got myself a genuine black one from x lite.

Best thing I've done and I can see more with it on as you get no glare from oncoming traffic if lights are on and it keeps the sun out.

Only time I don't wear it is on long (more than 10 miles) journeys at night.

Have you had any feedback from other users? What are they like to wear all the time I wonder?

I have a dark black one to go with my plain black helmet. Love the look.

Bought this visor (cheaper than "official") with this visor bag which carries my clear visor. I wear it underneath my textile jacket, not over like in the picture.

I know you don't want to carry a spare with you but it's really no hassle to strap that around your waist before riding. When you take all your gear off too, just pop it in your helmet bag with your helmet.

I don't like tinted visors whilst riding, makes me feel detached from what I am doing and from my environment. I feel the same when I wear sunglasses in the car though so it is probably just me.

Either way, I prefer a clear visor.

As for the yellow visor, I suspect it removes a lot of the colour differentiation you get with a clear visor (i.e. headlights, sidelights, indicators and brake lights become different shades of yellow-orange). I read a review of one a while back and the author found them horrible.

I'm not trolling, but I thought everything but a CLEAR visor was illegal for night time riding?
Sun glare is a bitch, could really do with a second visor Thumbs Up

Yellow is supposed to help with misty conditions and rainy weather apparently, I have a yellow pinlock somewhere that I was using for a while, in the dark.. all they do is make all the lights look the same colour haha, Tail lights, orangey... headlights orangey yellow too

Does not help at all in fog... Just light mist.

Plod hasn't bothered me about my blue iridium visor yet. Cool
I only use it when im on early shifts, 'cos its light enough at the moment, and weekends.
It works very well in bright sunshine yet I find it isn't too dark when its a bit overcast.
Glad I bought it. Thumbs Up

I use my dark tinted insert if im on early weekends as the sun is low going towards work - a clear visor and i would really struggle to see the motorway ahead... If I leave late I take it out.

As long as you don't ride at night with it you should be fine.

A seller on ebay called gas cap dude or something sells really good aftermarket ones. I got one for my Shoei and it's nearly exactly the same as the original one, only difference I can tell is it's lighter. His ones are made from polycarbonate so they don't shatter as well
