i like the look of the shark s900-c, does anybody have one that can give me a honest opinion, keen to get rid of my airoh sv55 !

thanks

(ps, any other recommendations for 200 notes or less are appreciated!)

edit, shark s900c prime for 155 with an extra shark visor (tinted) seems a bargain /?

The only complaint I have with my Shark, is that it leaks water in, through the air vents, in heavy rain, (monsoon force).
I bought it because it had a lot of ventilation, rain is a rare phenomenom over here.
Other than that I like it!

I really like Shark helmets - nearly bought an S800 a couple of years back but although they fit me well on the head itself, the chin bar is just far, far too close to me - and I'm no Jimmy Hill.

I like the look and design of them, but they don't fit my head. Small is too big and extra small is too small. Sucks.

why would you put a tinted visor on a helmet with a built in sun visor?

I've got the S700 Redding. I love it. It's comfy, seems well built, fits well. Built in sun visor is a blessing. The ONLY issue I have with it, is that if I'm tramming along at 60+ mph and look over my shoulder the visor tends to flip open, which is a nuisance. Other than that, spot on.

Cheers,
Steve.

Shark helmets are very underrated IMO. I almost always settle on the new race version whenever they release one but one of my reviewers swears by her S900.

At the minute I have an Arai, Shoei, Caberg, Suomy and 2 Sharks (RSR2 Carbon and Race-R Pro) and the Sharks are the only ones that get worn.

Because the internal visors suck, and on top of that people don't necessarily want a dark tint visor, there are other options.

I use an s700 and like the thoughts above the inbuilt sunvisor is brilliant. Very comfy, fits well and not too noisy. All in all I have no complaints! Oh and I've never had the issue of the visor flipping open.

I've got a Shark S900:

I like it a lot. Comfy, not too noisy, good visability. Only issue is that it lets a little water in when it's pissing it down. I think it might fog-up, or that might be my glasses....

The sun visor is pretty decent, I've been glad of it a few times now when the sun has come out of hiding.

I've got a shark S800 and I like it. Its not too loud, fits my head well, visor is solid (doesn't move unless I move it).

Only slight downside is the internal sun visor could be a bit darker but I think all sunvisors have that problem.

Oh and anti fog coating works well unless you have vents shut and sit still in traffic for ages, then the visor gets blury in parts sometimes.

I had an Evoline, and I have to say, although it fitted ok, the build quality was awful. After 6 months of regular use, the thing was falling to pieces with one side of the flip mechanism completely broken. The flip also caught on the ridge at the back of the helmet, which led to the very thin/poor finish actually being rubbed off.

Suppliers couldn't have been better, replaced the helmet twice, before we both gave up on it and gave me my money back.

On this basis alone, my opinion of them has been tarnished.

One guys opinion on his experience of Shark.

YMMV

Got an s900 and I like it. The sun visor (the reason i picked this one) does a pretty decent job and its pretty comfortable and not too loud. Speaking from experience ive hit my head twice in crashes both times with shark helmets and they do the job. (first with an s500 and second an rsx bongo).
The only negative ive got is that the visor itself feels pretty flimsy compared to the rsx, although i cant say that its affected performance at all in the time ive had it.
Hope this helps.

On the visor? Nope, it just opens and closes.

Like some of the others - I have the S900. I'd give it 3 out of 5. Why?

Pros: Well built, good quality, dry, decent vents, good value for money
Cons: NOT quiet, sun visor comes loose after a few months, difficult to clean in some areas (I personally gave up trying!)

If I didn't care about the above cons I'd definitely give it 4.5/5 Smile
