Hi all,

I have a bike helmet that I want to paint up, it will obviously need a key for the primer to stick to and I can sand it down using wet and dry paper but I just need to make sure that the coating isn't part of the protective quality of the helmet.

I just need to make sure that I don't weaken the helmet by sanding it thats all lol probably a silly question but I just wanted to check.

you need to also check the shell of the helmet is suitable for painting and that the chemicals in the paint wont weaken it.

some are suitable for painting some aren't
