I've just been reading a post of wearing glasses with helmets and decided to work out which pads you remove from the Shark Vision-R BeCool if you wear glasses.

I took the helmet out of it's bag. I've worn it once for my CBT. This is what I saw.

I've not dropped or bashed it at all - I'm really careful with it. It lives in its bag, in its box. WTF. How on earth can that happen?

Crying or Very sad

A stone thrown up from the road by your rear tyre or another vehicle, possibly, or someone messing with your things when you are out!

Looks like some scrote took a pot shot at you with an airgun while you were doing your CBT fella. Confused

Would you have noticed if it was like that when you got it?
Maybe damaged in transit to you?

Which way up was it stored? Looks like someone's dropped something pointy and heavy on it. I've hit a stone at motorway speeds and it's not done anything that bad.

Surely there's not enough momentum in a stone for that? Even one travelling at an effective 100mph!

Thats a proper 'puncture wound'. Stones don't do that.

Having shot lots of things with air rifles I'd say that looks like a pellet has hit it.

I went to the shop and picked it up. I'm sure I'd have noticed it.

It's stored upright, ie neck hole down.

Surely you'd have felt someone headshotting you with an air rifle?

Do you live alone?

Maybe a pocket of air trapped under the paint when it was made?

The paint wont stick to air for long, especially after a few temperature variations.

It's not really that deep. If you run your finger over it you can feel it, but it's almost like the top 'paint' layer has come off.

I retract my diagnosis then, an air rifle pellet, even one at range, would make a significant imprint on a helmet.

Picture 2 makes it look a lot deeper than picture 1 Embarassed

Maybe pixies did it?

dont worry about it tbh mate. in the 6 months ive had my current helmet i've dropped it 20+ times, its covered in stone/gravel chips and has taken a fairly hefty hit from a low-flying Pheasant. Helmets get abused even when you try hard not to
