Are there any good LED headlight bulbs out yet? I've seen full LED headlights which are awesome but pricey

Best I could find, also available in h1, h3, h7 and 1156.

Not going to be as bright as a standard filament bulb though.

Why not just get a 55w HID?

LEDs, great for being seen, not entirely sure they're great for seeing things with! HID's if you must for ultra lumens.. If not, my thumbs up always go to osram nightbreaker plus if you want the best incandescent legal lights that have the best illumination for country roads. Had them as high beams on my bikes and main and dipped in the civic and celica.. faultless

SMD's would be alot better as a main lamp bulb type, mostly due to the way they're constructed the emit light in a 360* angle allowing more use of the reflector in the lamp, which *should* be alot better than LED's.

however, it will largely depend on the temperature color, number of SMD's, construction quality and the resistors used in the construction.

also, your lamps reflector will play a large part.

the reflected beam would probably be quite wide as well and you run the risk of dazzling on coming traffic if they're not quite right.

however, if you REALLY want to go down this route,

if your headlamp doesnt have a H4 bulb fitting, get a conversion kit and give these a go

What part of the post stating that LED's werent any good as a main bulb as they wouldnt project as well then? "Fuken knob end"

Seriously not needed Thumbs Down

Willy waving aside, led sidelights are alright. Main beam i personally rate the ring xenon bulbs. 2 for a tenner on ebay, never had any problems on either of my bikes. They're a 55/60watt bulb.

you're a bloody eeget,
i wasn't taking the piss out of you, hence why i didnt quote you!!
i was taking the piss out of the spammer (who's post has now been deleted)
he had posted links to incandescent bulbs and had no reference to leds,
you know and i know leds are useless as headlights, but neither of us randomly joined a forum to spam light bulbs

Go for an LED sidelight bulb for day time running.

Then something like the Philips X-treme vision upgrade motorcycle bulb as your dipped main beams.

That's the best setup you're going to get outside of HID
