Hi

From memory, both are correct names. ZX600 was the real code name while GPZ600 was the marketing name.

All the best

Keith

Wouldn't bother.

It's a massive false economy to buy a 500 quid no tax or test bike that's old when for 600 more you can get a tatty hornet or similar.

After tyres, chain and sprockets and sorting out little niggles it works out the same.

1985! fuck that! look to spend about £1500 on a late 90's early 00's bike.

As others have said, I wouldn't bother, it can more often than not be false economy to try and sort out a few niggles and then MOT and tax a bike, when you can buy a decent (ish) runner for around the same sort of money.

You could pick up a MK1 Bandit for around £700, I sold mine with 12 months MOT and tax and a fair whack spent on bits, C+S Kit, coils, plugs, fork seals, tyres, oil cooler and other bits for £800.

Depends, as said above, I bought a '96 GPZ500 cheap and in the end, after replacing bits like chain/sprockets, discs, I have come out with spending the same on what I would have on a newer GPZ, and yet i've still got a worse paint job Laughing

However, the 80's bikes do look alot nicer than the 90's, and if it's the 80's look you like then whatever Cool

I do NOT recommend you to buy GPz600R, these motorcycles are wrecks and if you want one that is rideable then you're gonna spent fortune on them.

For these bikes you've got to be more then a rider Cool
