I am looking for a 1 piece waterproof oversuit.

Don't want to spend any more than £40 as of yet as I may just end up giving up on the idea and getting textiles.

Any advice? BLH Bering Light seems to have good reviews but I can't find any on the net for the £26 quoted in RiDE magazine.

I think I have the same one.

I've known it leak at the crotch on really wet days (naturally water pools there) so if it's pelting down and I have to ride I'll pair it with a pair of waterproof trousers that I got on the cheap from Milletts.

In winter when I commuted I tended to use the 1-piece rain or not for its windproof properties.

The problem I have with spending more is that they seem like vulnerable bits of kit.
If I sit on something rough or catch it on a sharp object that's £70 down the drain really.

That spada suit looks alright. Reviews seem to say most suits leak at the crotch. Maybe I can get some goretex underwear. Laughing

Cheers guys.

It's not a space suit. A small hole will let in a small amount of water. In the right place, probably none at all.

The Weise Economy looks alright. Though I have no clue what size to order.

I would guess a medium in height but nowhere near a 42 chest. I suppose getting it on easily is the most important thing.

Why a two piece? Ease of taking it on and off? I plan to do 200+ mile rides in the thing so I'd prefer waterproofing over speed if that makes sense. Though I suppose it would be a hassle to fiddle with at the side of the road.

Hein Gericke make a very good 1 piece rain suit. Cost me £30 a few years ago and I still use it.

I just go to my local tool place and get waterproof overs.

Bottoms are £4 and tops are £6. I buy 3 of each at a time and they mostly last me winter. I hate the idea of having expensive bits of plastic that can be melted or ripped really easily.

It does need to be a snugish fit. If it's too baggy, it'll flap around in the wind, which is incredibly annoying!
