I had this exact same problem with my cg, i'd imagine its water getting into the plugs, or the HT leads need replacing, go to a lawnmower shop (yes really) take your leads and your plugs and they will replace them for allot less than you would pay mr honda...

As for fixing your problem i have herd that putting cling film on the leads where the coil is to prevent water getting in there, never attempted it, don't take my word for it but apparently it can help in some cases...

Try takeing the plug out and clean around the rim of the plug holder (on the engine block) apparently crud collects there and lets water in sometimes...

I'd be interested to know what it is as i never fixed it! Good luck sorting it Thumbs Up

My MT50 had that problem. I got a waterproof plug cap and put a bit of plastic over the coil and it hasn't broke down since.

Plug cap would be the first thing I'd check. When I cracked the one on my cg125 it started doing the same thing. You could try spraying some wd40 around as a quick fix if it happens again... may help keep the water out.

Couldn't find the oil drainage nut and didn't have the right spanners to tighten the chain.

The reason is - there isn't one! Shocked took me ages to work it out but on the models from 97/98 (brazilian built versions) they didn't have drain bolts, you just take the filter off to empty it out!

If your doing anything to the bike like that go buy the tools! do not attempt any bolt tightening without a torque wrench as unless your experienced you can put too little or worse too much force on and make an expensive time consumeing mess, go get yourself a 3/8 torque wrench from helfords 8-60Nm and a socket set with all the right ones in for the cg (they do ones for about £40 or so) the halfords stuff is actually very good, better than most anyways + relatively cheep..

General rule, if you don't have to tools, think you can't do it*/don't understand (or ddon'thave a haynes manual) then don't bother, it could cost you at best some money or at worst and accident!

*If you read through the haynes manual properly and check it at every stage its dead easy.
