HI

I have just joined the forum and would like to ask you your opinion on which type of tyres would best fit a list of motorcycles which I will slowly present to the forum. To make the research objective I will concentrate on a rage going from 124 to 250 cc to limit the amount of material I need to process .I am doing this becouse of a reasearch I am doing on finding the best all-round tyre company to be found, I would truly appreciate any help you can give me.
The first motorcycle I will ask about is the Honda CBF 125.

Sorry to burst your bubble..

But there isn't an all round best tyre company.

There also isn't a best tyre for a certain bike, there's too man
variables, speeds, road surfaces, riding style, rider weight etc etc

I am sorry perhaps if I havent explained myself well I know there isnt one perfect tyre or company or I wouldnt be conducting this research but in relation to the question I just wanted to know which model you believe is the best all-rounded tyre for each bike, analyzing both the model and brand will allow me to make approximate conclusions based on that. This important becouse I need to chose which brand I will take mainly for my shop which sells mainly motorcycles which range from 125 to 250 cc

If you're selling them rather than using them I would go with the ones that give you the most profit, not the ones that perform the best Laughing

To be honest, with small bikes there's a good chance they've been bought for economical commuting not performance so people want cheap tyres, not good ones.

Bridgestone BT45s are always popular in smaller sizes though.

For 125 to 250, I find round, black and cheap the best.

Only if they're made from the same stuff they make cutting boards out of. Last ages, they do.

Good call, a pair of those tyres transformed a mates Kawasaki 250R, her riding improved massively as they gave her so much confidence.

For smaller bikes, well 'they' say the best tyres for a CG125 are Michelin pilot sportys. When mine goes back on the road that is what I will be fitting.

Why do you need to know?
What kind of bike do you ride?

For this whole list

HONDA CBF 125
HONDA ANF 125

KAWASAKI D-TRACKER 125 SM
KAWASAKI KLX 125

YAMAHA WR 125
YAMAHA YBR 125

KTM Duke II

Aprilia RS 125

SUZUKI DR 125 SM
SUZUKI RV 125

Do you believe that the CG125 Michelin and CG125 Bridgestone BT45s are the best tyres. I am sorry if this is not the most interesting of topics, but it is very important for me to understand which tyres are perceived as the best since I am new in the buisness. The list is the whole list of 125 motorcycles which I intend to supply and replace tyres for, any help you can give me I would truly appreciate

As a new business with no track record you should be looking at price and service. Most people will have a pref option, you start stockng these options on supply and demand rather than waste money on tyres which could corrode on your shelf. In addition, why limit your cc, you can sell tyres for bigger bikes without stocking the bike.

Any decent tyre supplier will deliver our spec within a day of placing an order.

This is quite retarded and starting to get a bit annoying.

What do you mean by "best" tyre? The best tyre for my ZX6R is the stickiest one...someone that does 1000 miles a week may disagree.

I highly doubt that the best tyre for a YBR125 will be the same as the best tyre for an RS125, no matter how you define best.

Always disappointed by the BT45. But there's not many other decent options available either.

For some situations 'best' is longest lasting. For others it's wet weather grip. Some want ultimate grip, while others want good grip from cold but don't mind about maximum possible grip levels.

I have already explained this, all rounded tyres since its a first stock I need a set of good longlasting and acceptably priced tyres.
Tyres which are pretty good at everything but not amazing on any terrain. I hope this makes it clearer

cheapest is best on a 125,
if someone wants a different tyre as part of a deal when selling them a bike,
then supply it,

one if the best tyres ive had has been a dirt cheap kenda tyre,
here in new zealand it cost me $80 for a rear (40 odd quid)
and was far better than the bt45 that it replaced
for the money it was worth a punt, and it paid off,

see who'll sell you the cheapest tyres, and supply them,
its easy really

At the moment I've got two completely different tyres both crap in my opinion, however I did get some M45's before on the cb when I had it and they were a great tyre.

The best tyre will be the one that you get used to, personally I can tell how the different tyres handle.

Best tyre for a CG125 is the Metzeler ME22.

(admittedly CG's aren't in the list of bikes, and I dont know if CBFs take the same size)

Far to subjective....

On another forum I use which is for ONE bike. We cannot agree on what is the best tyre for the bike.
Now that includes commuters, long distance riders and the odd off road freak....

I bought a tyre based on many users saying it was great.... Sadly it does not suit my bike setup/riding style.

I wish I had stuck to my old tyre choice.... Rolling Eyes

As you seem to be looking to be reducing your costs. Perhaps join a few forums that are based on the bikes you are looking at and see what is banded about there.

TBH. When I'm looking for tyres. I go to a dealer (Bike tyres leeds) who stock a large range and have a ability to get stock quickly if needed....
Not one who only has one or two diffrent makes.

The question does sound like it is coming from an auto-market-research-bot. Have you noticed how the seem to be no distnct style to the writing as if it was from a machine? I must admit that after reading a couple of posts it did seem to have the aroma of pork based products! that said the op has admitted/claimed they/it are in the motorcycle trade. Thumbs Up Smile
