Nothing, they are leather they don't wash.
Either
1 Spray the inside with air freshener
2 Buy new gloves
Or
3 MFU

This has been mentioned before.
The counter argument is that it does not kill the smelly bacteria it just slows them down (as keeping any food in a freezer does).

The lining of gloves are a pain. I'd just go with Fabreze or the like. Doesn't that spray stuff for smelly trainers contain some bacteria killing ingredients?

Thumbs Up

I guess you could use the same trick for helmet linings.

I did take the linings out of one of my helmets once and washed them in the bath using the shower. I think baby shampoo was found for the job as well. Frightening the amount of muck that came out. However doing it this way it took about 2 or 3 days for lining to dry in airing cupboard (timed for when I wouldn't be using bike, so probably in winter).

Thumbs Up

Why don't you ask your mum? *badum tish*.

Seriously, the standard solution for gloves seems to be bunging them in the freezer. Febreeze would probably work to a certain extent, or washing the inside out with water and mild anti-bacterial stuff.

My personal long term solution has been to get much thinner summer gloves, and wear them as soon as it is possible without my hands freezing, rather than wearing huge thick gauntlets and letting the lining soak up my sweat.

Just hand washed my stinking 'Dainese says waterproof but ain't' gloves, so I've still got wet hands but at least they smell of Fairy!!!
Didn't even think of the freezer for two reasons - 'er indoors would have a hissy fit and they're tricky enough to get on as it is without being as stiff as a board!

Seems like this has just been asked, but... slosh some isopropanol aka isopropyl alcohol in them. It's also a useful cleaning agent, add some to your box-o-solvents.

Gloves can be washed.

For leathers I would use sanitizer spray - the stuff used in commercial kitchens would be good. Spray lots, leave about 10 minutes then stuff full of newspaper to help them dry.

Then nikiwax the outside.

textiles just wash with some soap

HA! Someone in my office complained to building management about a dead mouse smell, more than a little embarrassed when source of putrefying rodent smell was tracked down to my gloves...

So, covered hands in anti-bac handwash, put on gloves and squished it all about a bit, left to brew for 10 minutes, rinsed out with warm water and hung up to dry for a day, result.

I had some smelly winter gloves. I sprayed them with Febreeze after using them and stored them in the airing cupboard. It worked.

I just read about this stuff by SDoc 100 called Technical fabric and leather wash in performance bikes. The bloke who used it seemed impressed by it. Bosh gloves in the wash at 30 degrees with this stuff and it seems it works. Im considering trying it myself.
