I've just been repacking my old micron can, it's worth keeping because microns are good-uns. The build quality is very good and it's all cleaned up very nicely, the internals were like new.
What wasn't like new though were the rubber seals that go between the tubular body of the can and the end caps. Being how micron no longer exist, getting replacements would now be pretty much impossible.
After a fair bit of searching I've found the solution. A company called silex makes silicone edge-trim, normally used to cover the sharp edges on sheet metal. Their 2mm stuff has done the job very nicely and being silicone, it's not going to melt or deform with the heat of the exhaust.
Just waiting for my stainless pop-rivetts to arrive so I can bung the micron badge back on (I had to remove it because there was a load of alloy corrosion underneath).
