Dead battery? give it a good run and try to charge the battery up. Failing that, get the old multimeter out and measure the voltage of the battery. Are all kill switches turned on/off, however you want to put it?

Battery hasn't got enough power to turn the engine.

Put it on charge for a bit and it'll be fine.

Thumbs Up

My idea is to check the starter solenoid/relay, if it has one, don't know if newer bikes still has these. Well, I believe it does have one of these things Smile . It could be just a bad connection there if ''it'' clicks whenever you press the start button, as you say. And if it clicks somewhere else than the starter motor its self. Thumbs Up

I not sure, what term is right in english for this starter component, just that thing that let the power go to your starter motor when you press the start button.

If it started OK from cold, the battery couldn't have died in the time it took to realise the fuel was off.

Charge up the battery 1st. If it still doesn't start and just 'clicks', take a rubber-handled screwdriver and bridge the solenoid terminals. Make sure there isn't any petrol about and do it in the dark as it looks better.

If this works, give the solenoid a whack, then see if it frees it off enough for it to work normally. If it doesn't, fit a new one.
