First accident !

I suppose it was going to happen sometime..

Going round a corner too fast and slipped on some gravel. Slid around 30 foot until me and the bike both ended up in a ditch.

Knees are a mess, gladly everything else is ok. Still in shock.. my poor bike Crying or Very sad

Bent handlebars, indicator fixings bent, front headlight bezel crushed. Could have been worse.. shook me up a lot though. Unsure to whether or not I want to carry on biking or get a car.

Aslong as your not seriously injured then it's ok.
As for you sticking to biking, well I'd carry on. You'll be back on 2 wheels before you know it. It's something you can't take away really. Well not unless the worst does happen, but lets not think about that.

Keep on riding it was a accident and it can only make you better if one crash can make you turn to a car then you need to give yourself a god damn good shake.

Accidents happen, its all part of the learning process. If you have a push bike, you're going to come of occasionally, a motor bike is no different. You could crash in a car as well. Maybe you should consider using a car for going to and from places, but keep biking for leisure, don't give it up because of an accident. But don't wait to get back on that machine, you know you were able to handle it before you slid, and the longer you leave it before climbing back on your bike, the worse your worry about if you'll drop it again will become.

I was going about 55, unfaired bike so theres hardly any damage at all. Dad cleaned it up for me while I sorted out my wounds and apart from bent indicator brackets and the headlight everything else is fine.

I was wearing jeans, armoured jacket (while saved my arms) and some decent gloves. Time to buy some gortex trousers! The right foot peg is bent quite bad, anyone know how to bend it back? It's about a 150mm thick rod.

I still can't remember what happened, all I remember is trying to get my bike out the ditch. Parents say thats caused by shock. Oh and that not one passing car stopped to see if I was ok.

fingers crossed should be on the road again tomorrow.

Unfortunately these things happen mate, as has been said just make sure you learn from it. Get some decent kit sorted jeans just don't do the job. I had a footpeg from my bike stick into my shin from a crash, if I was wearing decent boots and leathers I wouldn't have had a problem.

You just need to take it easy and get some confidence back in the bike and your abilities.

I wouldn't really recommend bending a footpeg back into place, not for the long term anyway. Metal can fracture and split, if you bend it back into place it could sheer under stress. You can get hold them quite cheaply off places like Ebay and they are easy enough to fit.

id be in as much shock as you if that happened to me, and with any luck, that wont happen, (haven't fallen off yet, considering ive only just passed my cbt) my dad brought me some padded trousers, jacket, boots, gloves, the lot, the problem is, id really like a steel spine plate thing.....cant remember exactly what thier called, its just armor built into the jacket to protect your spine, it managed to save this dude i know from breaking his spine when he came off his bike.
