Just been out to B&Q to find some paraffin oil which is what I think people on here said they use to clean the muck of their chains.

They didn't have any.

So my question is, What is the oil that they use for oil central heating? Because I have a 1000 liters of it outside and I want to clean my chain.

Any ideas?

Checked on google and all they seem to mention is the word oil and not what type.

Thanks in advance Karma

Hardly surprising... There's no such thing as paraffin oil... Laughing

Did you look in the gardening section? Big white 5 litre tub next to the paraffin fuelled greenhouse heaters. (Or some such)
Generally found on the end of a row.

Do you mean the oil that country folk burn 'cos the gas main hasn't got that far?

For all intents & purposes that oil is Diesel.

Yarp!!

I am country folk and gas has not reached this far.

You sure it's diesel? Doesn't smell like diesel.

Paraffin is oil. It is also known as Mineral Oil.

As is Diesel.

Diesel will work just the same but stinks like shite.
