I've not long purchased a K-reg NSR125R RN and its failed its MOT last week due to the exhaust being too noisy. (Its a 2-stroke motor bike, I mean what is classed as being noisy)

Anyway the bike is unrestricted with an Arrow exhaust and a K&N air filter.

I did find a couple of tiny holes in the front section of the exhaust which I have patched and I've re-sealed all of the joints. This has helped a little, but not much.

Does anyone have any more ideas I could try as I don't really want to have to buy a new exhaust.

If its an Arrow exhaust then that means its a race 'zaust therefore too noisy for the road.

Cheapest option is probably find another MOT centre that doens't care about loud 'zausts.

Failing that keep an eye out on ebay or speak to breakers about a standard exhaust.

Just find a garage where you know the people well enough for them to just pass it. Posibly putting the standard airbox on may make the bike seem quieter, although induction noise is not part of the mot.

Getting a standard exhaust is still a good idea as they are useful to have for MOT's and also for if you get stopped by the police, so you can change it back (for a day or so) after they kick off about your loud pipe!

Not strictly true Col. The Benelli has a Titanium Arrow exhaust which is fitted as standard, and it's road legal (God knows how though! Twisted Evil ).

Hi

The exhaust must (legally) have either the original makers markings or a BS stamp (BS AU 193 T2 I think) or an E mark. Legally it could be silent but still not road legal without the correct markings.

All the best

Keith

I was talking about an NSR having an arrow pipe - so you can shaddap and stop showing off. Razz
