Guess what, my insurance company have decided that they are not going to pay out. Evil or Very Mad
Aparently because the rear tyre is not in road worthy condition. However the bike passed a roadworthy a month or two before the accident and the state of the tyre hadn't changed much durring that time.

Looks like I'm in for a battle Evil or Very Mad

Whats the legal tread limit in the uk, I'll have to find out for here in SA, but I'm sure I was fine on that front. Otherwise the tyre was fine.

Any tips on fightinh with insurance companies?

My dad and I are going to see the bike soon hopefully so I can also start looking at costs of repairing. Hard to comment now, but anyone have an idea how much a bandit 400 front end might cost in the uk (costs are usually quite compariable). Likely that the bike wont be worth repairing Sad

Not happy!

1mm over 75% of the breadth of the tyre all the way round. That's what it is in the UK.

I thought it was, my tyre certainly had more tread than that.
I guess my first bet would be to ask them how the tyre failed to meet roadworthy standards.

I'd suggest finding out what the minimum is where you are. Then getting a test done to prove it meets the requirements then showing it to your insurance company.

Sorry to hear you're getting a hard time, good luck with it though. Thumbs Up
