So after I failed the first time almost exactly 1 month ago, I was determined to get it right this time. First time I failed for something stupid, and was completely my fault. I was confident I wouldn't make the same mistake twice.

Everything seemed to be going great, no hiccups, no dodgy situations and I was feeling so confident as we pulled back up into the centre. The examiner then told me I had failed, I couldn't believe it! I couldn't even fathom as to why I would fail!

Apparently I had pulled out in front of a car when there was not enough time. I had to question where this was, once I knew which part he was talking about I was still just as confused. There was a gap for one person to go, I took that gap, I saw the distance from me to the other car and there was more than enough time. I pulled of as I thought if I had waited it would get marked down for being too cautious. I still believe it was safe and acceptable to pull out so I'm pretty disappointed and annoyed.

Apart from that apparent major, I got 2 minors 1 of which was for not indicating, which I cant for the life of me think where I didn't indicate.

So went from feeling happy to quite the opposite within seconds. Oh well its not what I think at the end of the day... Just more money in the bin

Roll on attempt 3...

Gutted for you mate Sad

If the car braked (even just enough to let the lights show) the examiner would have seen. Generally if you do something that makes another driver change speed or direction it's bad news.

Booked your next one, yet?

Firstly bad luck and i'm sure you'll nail it next time.

It's kind of a catch 22 situation for a car driver. It is possible he saw you pull out with a "trainee" vest on coupled with the fact there is an "official" type bike behind you. It might of lead the car driver to think I need to let both bikes out here and braked.......
But like you say, if you hadn't of pulled out then he could of gave you a major for not making progress.

That is very unlucky, you probably had the misfortune to have a good driver behind you! He was probably just ensuring you had room to pull out and covered the brake just in case.

So much of the test is down to interpretation sadly. Hope it goes your way next time.

Hard luck. I failed once because it seemed I was a little fast out onto a roundabout. When I thought about it I thought there was bags of room. Trouble was there wasnt enough room to get me and the examiner out. Well thats how it felt afterwards.

Doesnt matter how it happened, the examiners word is law in these cases and if you failed just get it nailed on the 3rd time. Become part of the Pinky 3rd time pass club. Thumbs Up
