Heyup
Looking to buy a new front tyre for my ybr custom but struggling to find the right one
The official size is 3.00 18 Tubeless
But can I convert these to other measures like 90/100 etc

I really don't have a Scooby

The ybr ATM has the Chinese nylon on the front and I really don't fancy riding in the rain to be quite honest..
It has an k65 heindau on the rear in good condition
But struggling to find another tubeless to fit the front.
Also could I get a tubed tyre for the front would I need to buy an innertube or do they come with the tyres...

Sorry to be long winded just trying to get the best for my little money max is around 45 I want to spend..

Cheeers

This tyre website (recommended by the way) list 3.00 tyres separately in the drop down menus for tyre sizes so I suspect they may be their own thing distinct from the more common sizing method (90/90 or whatever).

https://www.tyreleader.co.uk/motorbike-tyres-3---18/

Might be worth phoning a tyre place to ask them as they will know.

You probably won't get an inner tube thrown in with tyres, I don't when getting tyres for my supermoto.

2.75-18 front and 90/90-18 rear, I believe. I would recommend the Pilot Street tyres.

You 'can' swap between imperial and metric measured tyres, so you could swap out a 3.00-18 for a 90/90-18, it would fit...

It's not a hard and fast rule, but generally a tyre with imperial measurements is most likely to be a cross ply, while a metric tyre is slightly more likely to be radial - either can be bias ply...

While that might not seem so important, it is. A radial is accepted to give the best ride and grip, cross ply is usually tougher and longer lasting and bias is a middle point (there are of course exceptions, hence the 'usually' and 'likely').

You say you have a k65 on the rear. IIRC that's a bias ply tyre so if you put a radial on the front then it'll fail an MOT (if the tester looks) due to 'inappropriate tyre mix'. Keeping the k65 you 'need' to put a bias or cross on the front.

Some people will tell you to only replace tyres in pairs - if they do, point at them and laugh.
