Done it twice, although a long time ago.

Western Europe in 1989 and
Eastern Europe in 1991.

Experiences well it was one massive pub crawl,
I have been slaughtered in every major European capital.

We slept a lot on overnight trains, a couchette was only
about £8 then, go to sleep in one city wake up in another.

Scandanavian trains were so nice you could just sleep
in the normal seats without a couchette.

Most of the rest of the time we camped. Apart from some cheap
accomadation, like the big tent in Munich or stay with
a family in some Eastern European cities.

Like everything else don't bring too much stuff as you have to
hump it. Lay out everything you need to take and then take
half of it. If your gonna camp, bring a big tent and all carry
a bit of it.

Trains are very busy in August, did it in June the second
time, much emptier.

Some of my fondest travelling memories are from those
interail tours, a whole month of madness and it was only
£150 in 1989 and £175 in 1991.

You should have a great time Smile
