Just joined the forum but been coming on for a while and just browsing around.
My question is regarding getting a 125.
Iv seen a dtr 125 locally but it has a full dep system and is fully derestricted and wondered if it would be worth the hassle of getting it and re-restricting it. I would guess a new exhaust needed but what else? Or would it be better just steering clear?
I have been trying to get a 125 for a few months now but suprisingly in glasgow not many seem to come up very often.
I want to sit my test before the change, but at the same time i want a 125 which i will like and enjoy riding so any recommendations from that?
My budget is around 1000-1500
Thanks for any replies and keep up the good work on the forum.

Depends on the year. When I had my 2007 model it had a wire behind the headlight that you would earth to the frame to derestrict it and it allowed the PV to open fully or something like that, very noticeable after you do it, and that's it pretty much aside from getting a DEP pipe (which removes the CAT). The older ones I think have a restrictor in the exhaust.

That site is useful and will contain info I've missed out.

Ok well from my experience my 2007 DTR would not go over 65mph when it was restricted which is a bit silly. The top speed jumped to 85 with it removed which is more like it, a lot safer on dual carriage ways.
