Hello folks,

Got my eye on a cheap as chips (£650 with Back-box & Panniers!) Varadero atm (2001 model i believe, 125cc) and wondering if they're any good?
i mean, it looks alright, but is it any good to ride?

Primarily buying for the mrs but know i'll use it to throw round some corners like an twat, but dont know anyone with one to try one out, so, any good or gutless sack of arse?

cheers, Matt

heard good things about the Vara, but wouldn't like to ride one with full luggage, its still only a 125 even if its as big as a 600. At that price I'd rather go for a Ybr/CG, alot less likely to have any problems, and cheap as anything to keep going. If you're set on the Vara though my mate had an 04 model and looked alright and he didn't have many problems

That's just it, i've ridden CG's and we've got a YBR going rusty in the back garden. They're just no "fun" for me and i find both to small: which is why ive been looking at this Vara lol.

I just want something i can... lean more than 3" either side and take a corner on at more than 20mph... that my mrs can also ride!

when I had my YBR i had pretty much no chicken strips left on the tyres Laughing threw it into every corner and could out handle my mates YZF-125. A Vara is heavier than a YBR or CG but has a few more bhp, so will handle pretty similarly when moving, not sure about lean angles etc though.
