Does anyone think that it would be possible to move the choke on my NSR to the handlebar instead of partially hidden on the side of the bike. Confused
It is a rubbish place to have it on the bike anyway, if not a little dangerous. But Honda must have thought it was a good idea at the time.

I was thinking of maybe, and I say 'maybe' buying a choke piece from maybe a CBR and somehow wiring the choke up to that. Question

Does anyone think it would be possible or way too hard and to not bother. Confused

the old ns125r use to have the choke on the handle bars and a very similar carb this may fit with a lot of time and effort

Hi

The earlier model of NSR had the choke mounted on the handlebars. Didn't realise they had moved it.

All the best

IMO it really isn't worth the effort. You only need the choke on for a few secs (30 at the most). Just turn the bike on before you get your helmet on and by the time youre all sorted flip the choke off and your done. Just learn how to flip it without looking if you do need to do it on the move, just like reserve switch which is much harder to do while moving.

If its a lever it might be a bit of a pain to do, the choke on mine is on the bars, its on a cable, i presume the one on yours is like a lever? you could have a cable running down to it but it would need a return mechanism of some sort, this would be difficult and fiddly as **** to do...
I know the feeling my cg had its on the side, as was the fuel reserve, almost impossible to get at while moving!
Its not really gonna be worth the effort, your best just to start your bike before putting on your gear, let it run and warm up BEFORE setting off, if the throttle response is slugish let it warm up a bit more... turn off choke and off you go.

The reason why? cheeper to manufacture...

Hi

Probably quite easy to fit really. You would need the cable, l/h switchgear with the lever and the bit which goes on to the carb. The Dellorto carb is fairly modular and I would be inclined to suspect that the bits would just bolt on.

All the best

the cable that runs from the choke mechanism to the lever might not reach and handle bars might be different thickness. i might be able to find out for you if you really wont to do this and i might also be able to get you the bits to do it if you live local.

Point, and if this is a problem then contact Venhill who will make up cables.

All the best
