Hello all, I'm new here. Just starting to think about getting into riding something with an engine, I'm fed up of cycling now.

I have a question for you guys. I'm planning to take my CBT as soon as poss, but I've noticed all the bike training places around here seem to be offering these pre CBT training courses too. Is it worth taking one of those, or should I just jump right in to the CBT itself?

I am over 21, if that makes a difference, and mostly just planning on using whatever bike I end up on to commute. All urban roads, all 30mph limits.

Thanks in advance!

Compulsory Basic Training, it's in the name. If any of those chancers tell you that they can't train you sufficiently during a CBT course, please let the DSA know, and then avoid them like the plague, because they're admitting to being incompetent.

Paying for more training after your CBT might be a good idea, but beforehand? That's a scam.

However, see if you can blag an hour or so via the Get On scheme.
