Smile

Picked up an 07 Versys last night, 5500 miles, FSH and 1 owner, it's like new.

Wondered if there are any other owners on here. Already booked the ferry to france to clock up some miles! It came with some Givi panniers too.

All I need is a noisey pipe! It's trouser fart quiet at the moment.

Mine's just like this one;

Dammit, I wish!

I've fancied one of these for a while. I use my ER-6n in the winter but I can't help thinking this would be just a bit more "wintery" somehow.

I was all set to buy one last autumn but shit happened and it never came to pass. Doh!

ah a few on here then!

I'm on the lookout for an exhaust but they all seem quite pricey, or shite looking if they're not! What did you pay for the akra?

It's got to be done either way! That along with some roadsmarts, it's still on it's original front and a new rear (D221? Can't remember) but I don't really rate them so far.

MTC cans are well priced and used quite alot by Versys riders.

Apparently very loud without the baffle.

Garth, did you get it private sale or from Kwak up Shirley High Street? Oh and are your panniers soft or hard ones? What are those racks on the back called?? I will be wanting a set on mine (when I get it), hopefully won't be in orange though, I hope mine will be black...Wink

I did originally want a black one, but this was too much of a good deal to turn down. I like the all black 09 ones the bestest, but for the money I'd saved on this I could do a hell of alot of touring!

It's a givi hard pannier set - my boxes are colour matched, and don't appear to have ever been used. Happy days!

I had one:

Superb bike and I'm missing it to be honest even though I've now got a Street Triple R. 60mpg even when you're giving it some. Roadsmarts or PR's will be much better than the Dunlops that it comes with.

Get a Scorpion exhaust as they dont look as goofy as some of those with curly end pipes on them.

One thing to be aware of is these bikes have had a serious price hike in the last few years. Back at the beginning of 09 you could pick up a new one 08 model for around £4700, now you will pay about £6000 for an 11 model so the depreciation can be high when second hand as it's offset against the price of an earlier one.

I have the 08 ER6F, the daddy of the Versys and the engine is surprisingly good and the build quality horrendous. In the 2 year warranty period I had two new reg/recs, rear shock top bush, headlight relay, seat and it now needs a new loom and coils but I did do 47000 miles in that time.

Interesting you've a Street Triple, I've a test ride booked on one Saturday. I think I might have to cancel it though, as I know I'm going to want one and I can't afford it!

Very wise ... if you can't afford it then you really shouldn't.
