Can anyone recommend one? I've been looking at the oxford xs30, but this has bad reviews. I also really like the kriega R35, but it's quite expensive (£130 on amazon!) and not waterproof!! Surprised
I use a backpack daily, normally just to carry my lunch, sunglasses and some paper work. I sometimes carry my laptop / change of clothes etc.
Oh yeah, and no ebay please!

Thanks

Alpkit Gourdon - 25 litres, basically a dry bag with straps.

I'd highly recommend the Kriega R30 over the R35 (and anything else on the market.

The R30 is more a rolltop with straps (ok, there's a lot more than that) whereas the R35 is more a traditional rucksack. The R30 will be much more waterproof and the loss in capacity is only minor, especially when weighed up against the drawbacks.

I've had mine for 9 months now, it's never leaked even in the heaviest downpours (the zip pockets aren't rated as waterproof but never had any issue so far), it's really comfortable on the bike to the point where I forget that I've got it on. It's a top bit of kit that I'm sure will last me a lifetime. Their resale values on ebay reflect this.

I have the R20, US10, US5 and the tank adaptor.

You can then interchange etc .. the versatility of this is brill.

I have and afaik came with the R20, a nice sack, that you use in the R20 should you need to. I prefer to use it as a roll sack, perfect for clothes, sleeping bag etc.

Thumbs Up

I bought a Kriega R20 and hydrobag to go green laning with, I have used it more when I ride on the road than anything else. It looks fairly small but I can fit in a fleece, wallet, camera, sunnies, spare visor, cleaning cloth, phone etc in there quite happily and has straps on the front so that you can expand or contract the bag depending on what you have inside it. One of the guys I used to ride with would joke that I brought my sammiches along with me again.

Although Kriega stuff is expensive mine is waterproof (yup, I tested it), well made and sometimes I forget I am wearing it. The back of the rucksack is curved so that it fits your spine and the harness clips are secure while being easy to clip and unclip. If you need extra space you can buy add-ons if needed. Or just go up one and buy the R30.

R20 - £75 for Kriega

I use one of these for commuting:

https://www.knox-armour.co.uk/product.html?product=kpack

Holds a 15" MacBook Pro, a small umbrella, waterproof pants, charger, A4 notepad and my lunch easily. Has a pull out waterproof overcover stitched into the bottom but I've been caught in some showers with it packed away and everything was still bone dry.

As a bonus it has a helemt holder and detachable bum-bag if you like that sort of thing Thumbs Up

Paid £40 for mine on offer, usually £50ish.

Throw another in the mix:

Lomo Drybag Daysack.

Looks pretty good, considering buying a few things from them.

+1 for knox stuff.

I had the knox six pack: https://www.knox-armour.co.uk/product.html?product=sixpack

It'll do all you ask, has a pouch inside close to the back for paperwork, it includes a 17" laptop carry case that goes inside it, and as well as that you can loosen the strings and clip at the front and it'll hold your helmet when you're walking around with it on your back. Also comes with a 'storm cover' if the weather is particularly bad.

Definitely an awesome rucksack, couldn't recommend it any more.
