It all started in the year 2000 in the month of July when I passed my CBT after failing it twice on a geared bike lol, then finally passed on scooter!

Then in September 2000 went and bought an Italjet Formula 50

Here is the Italjet Formula 50 (although I don’t have my own picture of it this is what it looked like, there were no camera phones in the year 2000 and digital cameras were too expensive for me)
The scooter was great and was quick and cheap those were the days when a full tank of petrol cost me about £2-£3

After 1 month I decided to get an Aprilia RS125 1998 model as shown below (again although I don’t have my own picture of it this is what it looked like, there were no camera phones in 2000 and digital cameras were too expensive for me)
The bike was a great first bike and taught me a lot as I was first riding this bike as if it was a car keeping the revs low and practically going as slow as a snail.
This bike unfortunately and legally for me did not have a power valve fitted!
Then I took it for a service and the mechanics educated me on how to really ride (thrash) the bike as I did not realise that I had the whole rev range to use at my leisure.
After that service I did exactly that and wow I was shocked at how fast this was (bearing in mind I had just come from a push bike to 50cc scooter to 125cc sports bike)

In the spring of 2001 I decided to get the new shape Aprilia RS125 and this was a big mistake lol
This bike gave me nothing but grief despite the care I took of it as in warming it up properly servicing it regularly!
However it did take me to Walsingham Norfolk and back in the summer with no problems apart from the fact that a bike like this vibrates like mad at 70mph
After passing my bike test in July 2001 I got the bike derestricted and had a power valve fitted and wow!
The power valve would kick in at about 7k or 8k rpm and the bike would shoot like a rocket.
Unfortunately the top speed I could get was 90mph and no more
Here is a picture of the bike but again although I don’t have my own picture of it this is what it looked like, there were no camera phones in 2001 and digital cameras were too expensive for me:

In November of 2001 I decided to step up my game and join the semi big bikes and went and bought a Honda VFR NC30
I was still on a restricted licence so had to have the bike restricted to 33bhp and the top speed with this restriction was 110mph
This bike is probably the best handling bike I have ever ridden, it inspired so much confidence in me when it came to taking corners and leaning into them as the bike felt like it had a mind of its own and begged you to lean it!
Although the bike at the time felt bloody heavy to pick up off the floor (not putting side stand down properly) or maybe I just needed more muscles!
When my licence restriction passed in July 2003 I had the bike derestricted and OH MY!
It felt like a whole new bike, the power was amazing!
Here is a picture of what my bike looked like but again although I don’t have my own picture of it this is what it looked like, there were no camera phones in 2003 and digital cameras were too expensive for me

In the August 2003 I decided to get a Kawasaki ZXR400 1996 plate
This bike felt different in terms of the power delivery compared to the Honda VFR NC30.
The bike was standard when I got it and would do a top speed of 130mph but I went and had a Dynojet kit stage 1 fitted and a full micron exhaust system and the bike now had a top speed of 140mph
I loved this bike and wanted to keep it forever!
Here is a picture of that bike but again although I don’t have my own picture of it this is what it looked like, there were no camera phones in 2003 and digital cameras were too expensive for me:

In February 2004 I saw this year 2000 Yamaha R6 and fell in love with it and went and bought it and said goodbye to the Kawasaki ZXR400
Although there is only a difference of about 200cc the R6 felt so much more powerful than the 400cc’s that I had owned.
Once the revs were above 10k the bike really came to life!
The bike was light fast and very responsive, had a reasonable amount of space for me to put the chain in the seat compartment.
When I look back at this bike now I do wonder what the heck I was thinking as the colour scheme is awful!!!
Here are some pictures of my old R6:

February 2005 saw me say good bye to the R6 and hello to my Suzuki GSXR600 K1.
This to me felt like better bike than the R6 as it felt more grounded and came alive when the revs were above 9k
It was a great bike and still is.
I remember my mate had the 1000cc version of this bike and I wanted to see if the GSXR1000 was really that much faster than the GSXR600!
I found out as when we set off from the lights there was no contest he just disappeared into the horizon whilst I was left there crying my eyes out with laughter at my stupid question between the two bikes.

September 2006 was the day my life changed and I got the guts to get a year 2000 R1 which was a birthday present to myself.
My life and biking world view changed forever!
There was just so much raw power I just couldn’t believe what was happening when I twisted the throttle back!
Once the revs are above 3k the bike has instant power throughout the rev range, the higher the revs get the more power there is I mean this bike felt like an aircraft!
Just slight blips of the throttle in first gear and the bike would wheelie
I loved this bike more than the others not just because it was fast but because I could chill in any gear and take off.
Here are some pictures of my old year 2000 R1:

April 2007 saw me say hello to my new 2004 Yamaha R1
This was at the time to me the most beautiful bike I had ever seen
Unfortunately compared to my old model the power lower down in the rev range was very lacking but the bike as a whole was much more stable and planted than the year 2000 R1 I had.
I am a strange one when it comes to bikes so too keep it short I had 2 different 2004 R1’s lol!
One got stolen which is the white one in the below pictures, and one I sold which is the black one which was previously red and was my first ever 2004 R1
Here are the pictures of those R1’s

March 2010 saw me say hello to the Suzuki GSXR1000 K1
This was just a temporary bike which I bought to keep me going until my insurance paid me out as my white 2004 R1 had been stolen in March 2010.
This bikes torque pissed on the R1, this was a serious bike which was a bulky firm sports bike.
However despite the torque the R1 lives within my soul and we are soul mates so this bike was sold a month later when my insurance paid me out and I got another 2004 R1 and went all Lord of the rings on it thus being my third 2004 R1:

April 2010 and I went all Lord of the Rings on my 2004 R1
Here are the pictures of it:

October 2010 saw me step back in time and say hello to a year 2002 Yamaha R1
Great bike with masses of torque above 3k rpm
This bike was great but for some reason I just never felt safe on it, I had a weird feeling that if I kept this bike I was going to die on it.
I ignored that feeling but it soon overwhelmed me so I sold the bike despite there being nothing wrong with the bike, I just could not ignore that gut feeling anymore

July 2011 saw me step even further back in time almost dejavu, as I had again bought a year 2000 Yamaha R1
Got a special sticker kit for it from Insignia Graphics:
Here are the pictures of that R1:

March 2012 saw me say hello to my current bike a 2007 Yamaha R1
I got this bike for a bargain for £4000 with all the extras on it!
The previous owner was going through a very messy break up with his wife and had to sell his stuff quickly as he need the cash asap, I offered £4000 as a joke and he said yes, I was confused, as that bike is worth between £5300-£5800
I borrowed the cash off a mate and took the bike home that same evening, I hpi checked the bike and checked his passport and other details as I thought this was a deal too good to be true and these kind of things usually end in tears or depression.
But things where really as he said so only a fool would turn down a genuine offer like that!
The bike is great it does not have the low down torque as older R1’s but for what I paid I cannot complain and I plan to tour Scotland on this (have bought a special seat cushion for it lol as numb bum is not nice!) and plan to tour Isle of Man either this year or next when the TT is not on
When the revs get above 4k rpm the bikes is good but at 7k rpm the bike really wakes up shows you what it is made of
Here are some pictures of this bike (although I have another thread with pictures of this bike in I have put these here, to maintain my biking historical timeline):
