dunno if this should be a new topic but here goes anyway.
ok i have heard talk that you can remove the power valve to smooth out the power is this true ?
if i do remove the power valve does this mean i lose the power i have got ?
my bike is derestricted but i,m not sure what that involved i was led to belive the power valve is what derestricts the bike ,
also if possible can some one just run though how i would remove the power valve and what i would need to put in its place ,
sorry for so many questions but i just want to get a smooth ride around town but not loose my top end speed
thanks to any body who answers and thanks to keith for all his answers before he really does seem to be DA MAN

If you get rid of the powervalve you will lose over half of the power that you have.

Leave it where it is. Its there for a reason.

It depends, you can replace the standard power band with a few new ones, 6 is about right for that bike i'd say. Make sure they are nice and elastic.

like McJamweasel said if you take the power valve away you may gain a bit of top end but you will lose through the rest of the range

If you take the pv out the bike wont run because there will be a big hole in the barrel Very Happy

You can buy pv's that are opened by pressure instead of the soliniod that you can adjust to change how quick and when the pv opens.
