Been watching a few videos of this kind of stuff recently (I blame the magnet and copper pipe link)

I have no idea how that thing works, but from reading some of the comments it looks like nonsence.

This is my favourite comment out of the 10 I read:

"Big fat hairy deal. All you have done is redesign the motor for a new RPM per volt input... just exactly how do you think motors are designed for a target RPM in the first place? Duh. If you want to do something actually useful, try focusing on the efficiency vs cost & weight. To do that, you will need to measure the output power--not just the input power. "
