Looking at one as a next bike, but a few reviews I've read and a few people on here that have used them say the suspension isn't up to much when pushed...

What exactly does Pushed mean, flat out top end or above seventy ?...

I don't exactly ride to a bikes full potential as I don't see the need to ring the tits off of it and push it hard so I'm thinking as a next bike it'll do, so long as it'll carry me and some gear for Rallies I'm happy, on that point what racks are available for them as I haven't seen one with pillion handles so I'm assuming a Ventura rack similar to the one I have on the SV where it connects at the rear foot pegs and a bracket goes over the rear subframe under the plastics is the only option ?...

Any other issues or hints and tips owners can give me much appreciated...

*The Thou' version isn't an option as I don't have spare cash at the moment and the Street Triple doesn't appeal before they get thrown in the mix, I'm aiming to replace the SV with as little as possible extra cash thrown at replacing it or even none at all as they can be found for just over £2000*

forks need a maxton revalve, rear shock was worth £10 according to a ride test I saw where they "fixed" the suspension on a Z750 and ended up replacing it

ride a street triple, don't look at it ride it

I think they're ugly as fook, but one day, one day I'll own one!

Has anyone ever replaced the suspension, if so how much or are any other parts available as a straight swap from another bike to uprate it ?...

Having owned one for 4 months before I ended up trashing it il give you my thoughts, firstly they are good bikes. They're solid typical Japanese, look for a tidy one and u won't be disappointed, I bought one for 2750 with 8k on the clock and it was very tidy.

I have to say though the following; firstly a very torquey and quick bike, the engine is a real hooligan piece and will punish you if u let it, as has been said what lets this bike down is the suspension, you really have to muscle it into corners to get it going and this is where it bit me in the ass, I was carrying too much corner speed, decided I didn't have enough muscle to get it round and boom I had a massive problem.

It's not a bad bike, it's sharp, it's quick, and for an experienced rider a good ride, I've replaced with with a speed four and the biggest difference is how easy it falls into corners in comparison with its fully adjustable suspension and balance. Make no mistake the Z750 is essentially a naked sports bike, id ride one and decide if it's for you.

What's the main difference between the Z750 and the Z750S aside from styling? Is the S just a bit less tuned?

See, I looked at the ZS but I'd want to put lower fairings on it and if I was going to do that then I may aswell just change the bars on the SV, but I want a change from it and the only one that's appealing is the Z750...

I've never owned one, but a mate of mine had one and I did ride it a fair bit.

I found the steering very vague, and the engine quite weak. The build quality and finish wasn't great either, and it did dissolve a bit in bad weather - and that's coming from someone used to owning Suzukis.

+1

Very vague and remote front end. Buzzy as feck through the bars on the M-way. Shit mirrors.

I've got one.

The suspension was crap. It wasn't until I purchased an Er6 that I realised how bad it was. Saying that its a very easy fix, I bought a hagon £300 , 30 mins later and all sorted.

I've owned mine nearly 6 years now from new, the bike still looks as good as the day I bought it, no rust, no dirt, no flaking. I simply look after my bike.

I love my Z, but if i had to choose only 1 bike I would keep the ER. The Z is fast(no problems keeping up with the usual R6s, ZX6rs etc on the road) but you don't need that speed on the road. The Er is smaller and easier to ride around town on.

I also had to change the mirrors on the bike as do all owners. Buell Thunderbolt ones are what you need.

Have you had to do anything to the front end at all or just changed the rear and it sorted the ' issue ' of the suspension out ?...

Any other problems or issues you can think of at all ?...

Hi no I just changed the rear shock, that's all. The change was amazing.

There are no other problems, I already mentioned the mirrors.

The Z is a great bike, its plenty quick, it has a huge petrol tank, the most i've done is 192 miles.

I use BT23 tyres and they are great.

I have looked after my bike, I've washed it after every ride and it has had every service. I've changed the levers for Pazzo levers and I love the feel.

Like I have already said, the bike is plenty quick, you will have no problems on the road. In my crazy years I've over taken every type of bike on it. Though I have slowed down now after an off last year.
