...First time! With NO minor faults and perfect (as in spot on requirement!) speeds! Woohooo! I'm so happy right now! And SO glad I decided to do it on the big bike!

Thanks so much to everyone who gave me words of encouragement and tips and all that jazz Very Happy Was well pissed off when I saw the rain this morning but it was alllll gooooood!

Bring on the Mod 2!

I know there were two other people on the forums at least who have their Mod 1 today, can't remember the names, but if you're reading this, how did you do?!

What time was your test? Got mine at 8.15am..I'm assuming the first one of the day, not sure if that's a good or bad thing Surprised

Don't worry about the nerves, I think I just learned to accept they would be there and try and live with/ignore them Very Happy There was just me and the examiner, my instructor stayed inside so I wouldn't feel so 'watched', and my test was at 9am. I think it makes absolutely no difference at all what time your test is, just do everything by the book, even if you feel like a tit. Sit up, make your head movement really obvious, do all your shoulder checks (both ways I was told) and full throttle it when you come out of the bend for your emergency stop and swerve. You'll be fine I'm sure!

I also watched a load of Mod 1 videos on youtube last night, that helped just get it REALLY clear in my head exactly what was required and how they would explain things to you Smile

Good luck!

Well I should redress the balance then...
Messed mine up again Neutral
Too slow on the u-turn and dabbed my foot down then after that my heart wasn't in it and I misjudged the swerve and booted the blue cone...
3rd time lucky though Very Happy

I got mod 1 last week but failed mod 2.. good experience for a pass next time though. Well done yaigi

andy_uk..

I practised U-turns like a bugger the previous 2 nights on a safe bit of road nearby, an industrial park after hours. You have a width of 9 paces to U-turn in during the test so do your U-turns in 7 paces while you practise.

The exact width is 7 metres, so may be worth cutting some string 7 metres in length and putting out markers in a car park and practising. Then reduce it to 6 metres, so when you come to your test it feels like Theres lots of room

Yeah, I had been doing but I was stressed when I got there which didn't help (got 1/4 of the way there then remembered my CBT & theory certificates...) got to the test centre with 10 mins to spare!

Very Happy Congrats on passing, just gotta nail that MOD 2 now. Its probably easier than the MOD 1 if you have had training and stick to everything you have been taught.

Thanks Rog! I'm still in awe at the no faults, I went and showed every single biker at work. None of them had a clue what it was mind, all too old to have done Mod 1 Rolling Eyes

3rd October but keeping an eye out for a cancellation!

Aww damn Andy! Have you had any lessons?! If not I would strongly recommend some! I did just one last hour the night before, just going over manual handling and slow maneuvers and it did me to world of good, if only in my head, just confidence building if nothing else.

Thank you! Yeah I'm not so worried about Mod 2, all the worry was about Mod 1, I think that's the harder one. Don't want to do something silly on my Mod 2 and mess it up though so will be practicing frequently from now til then! Can't wait! This is such a good feeling!!!
