well guys i was messing with the bike the otherday pulled off the regulator to clean connectors and the plug from loom touched part of the frame resulting in a rather impressive spark, now to me instantly this isnt good and i was rather upset with myself for A still having ignition on whilst messing with electrics B not dissconnectting battery GRRRRRR
on further investigation i found the inline fuse is not there and the clips are just wedged together - person before me done this but i should have checked!!!!!
now upon firing my bike up its become nearly impossible to fire up and when it does its running like a bag of hammers, sounds like its missing when revving up and just stops dead while ticking over.
tried to fire it up straight after and nothing - took off plug cap and put in a fresh plug and earthed on bike frame turned her over - NO SPARK - NO SPARK - FAINT SPARK - FAINT SPARK - BIG SPARK - NO SPARK etc etc etc...
replaced a few parts
new coil - new iridium plug - regulator rec - problem still persists so i ordered a cdi off ebay which come in the post and is marked KR1 CF498, now this cdi is half the size of the one thats in the bike wich is marked KY4 CI572, the bloke who sold the cdi to me says it would fit the bike (bought it from a seller who was breaking a full nsr)
so can you guys give me some pointers as to whet you thing the problem could be and would the smaller cdi be ok for my bike?
cheers

Yes it does have a powevalve and servo works fine, if the cdi is restricted or for different bike then it's pointless as I'm running a derestricted bike.
Couldn't see point in running one of these without the toppend revs as that's where it's all at
Cheers
