Renting a motorcycle has it's pro's and it's con's.

Main Pro's -

1- You have insurance and they deal with it if it goe's wrong.
2 - Nice new machine to ride on.

Main Con's -

1- No riding experience on the rented bike.
2- Maybe very expensive.
3- You have to be very careful not to damage the bike.

Their will be other pro's and con's pointed out by others i am sure.

Other than that it sound's like a awesome trip Thumbs Up

Good Luck

Matt

One thing to make sure of is that the hire company are OK with you taking the bike out of the country. Some (probably the majority) won't let you.

Most will, we often get Auzies Mericans and Kiwis rock up here on hire bikes from the UK, complete with satnav and luggage. but I would do your research before commiting, insurance is a big thing in the EU we brits can rely on the EHIC card for medical cover but forigeon types will need pretty comprehensive travel/accident/health insurance to cover any accidents to themselves, remember to get one which covers motorycles up to and including the capacity of the bike you will be riding, as most only cover to 125cc - plus pillion if you have one Wink

Rental is going to get very expensive very fast. An absolute minimum of £55 a day.

A lot of the Aussies/Kiwis etc.. that i've met when on tour actually just buy a bike in the uk then sell it when they return before getting their flight home.

For just two weeks it's probably not worth the hassle for you, but it's another option if you can find a suitable bike and insurance.
