Circa. 2002 (I think?), on the trusty NSR125 against a three-up Civic Type R late at night. I got whooped.
I couldn't even look them in the eye at the next lights... ____________________ NSR125RR - ZXR750H1 - ZX9R E1 - GSF600S - GSF600SK3 - VFR400-NC30 - SV1000N - ST1100-R - CBR900RR-R - GSF1200SK5 - GSF600SK1 - VFR1200FA - GSXR1000K2 - ZZR1400 D8F

I got ripped a new arse hole by a GT500 last year through the Medway tunnel.
He was about 6 car lengths in front of me, I came round the corner and pinned it to catch up with im. He backed off and pulled over to the right hand lane, To let me along side him. We were doing about 60mph here.
I heard him boot it, So I Pinned the NC29, and I felt like I was moving backwards! The GT500 was that quick.
Another time I was coming through the average speed limit on the A2 towards Bluewater. Behind me was a Golf Mk5 R32. As we passed the National speed limit sign, We both booted it.
The golf crept past me as I topped the 120 marker.
Last one I can remember, I was on the A20 coming back from Ashford. I saw a Glanza Turbo pulling out of a petrol station as I passed. So I slowed right down, to let it catch up, Fancied a bit of race along this road as its an amazing road!
I saw him in my mirrors, So I started speeding up again, He flashed his headlights and we both went for it!
He couldnt keep up on the twisty parts because I was able to get back on the power and speed up quicker than him. Although on the longer straights, he was pushing me along.
As for the pit bike, So Far I've done an ER5 off the lights, A DT125, and an RS125.
Once I get to 40mph they come flying past though.
Up to 30 - 40mph, I think alot of bikes would struggle to stay ahead. The pit bike really is stupidly fast off the line.
That is providing I don't flip it on take off!

On a GPZ500 you should trollop all those cars up until at least 70mph.
You're doing something wrong.
Full revs, instant full throttle, control power delivery with clutch.
I bet you're letting the clutch all the way out too early, revs are bogging down then you're pulling them up through the low range? ____________________ Yamaha SZR660 Caution to the wind, the throttle pinned! |

I had a masarati stick like glue behind me the very first time I opened up the ZZR (Granted it was a 3rd gear roll on). Never really had anything else try other than that, 99% of the boy racers round here drive clapped out old hatchbacks with a few scoobys and evos that usually just don't have the acceleration to make for a proper fight ____________________ 2010 Triumph 1050 Sprint ST |

Nope i've had a fair bit of practice at fast starts but these were all rolling starts at about 30mph, the 330i I managed to stay ahead of, just, that was all the way up to 100mph, I was ahead of one of the skylines up to about 50/60 mph but the other one completely left me for dust, the civic was a ~40mph rolling start and he was gone by the time i'd hit 60
The ("private") road has a roundabout at each end so basically anything between 2 and 10 cars/bikes get lined up and enter the roundabout, its not really pre-arranged as such but everybody knows what's happening, as the last cars get onto the straight everybody goes for it, so the starting speed is normally about ~40mph, it pretty quickly ends up with me and the fastest 2 or 3 cars at the front and the other cars (things like focus RS's and saxo's) at the back.
p.s. sorry for the chavvy way this thread sounds, when you're on this sort of subject it cant really be helped lol

To be honest, 330s ain't that fast at all. I have one. 0-60 in 6.7 seconds and 231hp. 100 mph seems to take forever, and chasing top speed of 155mph takes a pretty long stretch of private road.
I 'raced' against a friend with my DRZ400. I was riding and a friend driving my car. The bike was a tad quicker to about 40ish, then the car would catch up, pretty level until about 80 when the car would start pulling away.
I'd imagine the Geeper (~59hp IIRC) should have a 330 or Civic trounced, (330 is quicker than a Civic Type R after about 80ish). ____________________ Current: ZZR1400

Someone who doesn't like GPZ500's very much. |
Yeah, after 80ish the GPZ wouldn't have a chance. I was going from a standstill point of view. As for 59hp, I plucked that figure out of my head, thought I remembered reading it somewhere? ____________________ Current: ZZR1400

I got shown up by a BRITISH car!! Some kind of aston martin (vantage or something) on the way home from work. He had the run off the roundabout onto the uphill crawler lane. I peg it, as Im gaining I cant believe my luck. Unfortunately we are about to hit 3 figures and we both have to slow for a second. Upon which he showed me a sack full of torque and quite promptly fucked off. The bike? A piss pump V twin SV650. That was the final straw, I don't want to be beaten in a straight out drag by cars, no matter how nice the car is
Oh and another nail in the Sv's coffin was when it got raped by a new shape Integra Type-R. We lined up on the motorway ready for the off, then I noticed I was already doing 80, he took off and I might as well have gotten off and pushed ____________________ RS125 > CBR6 > SV650S > ZX636R > GSX1300RZ Hayabusa > 06 RSVR Mille > SV1000S > Street Triple 765 RS |
