I have come to a decision of my bike, it is a Huoniao hn125-8, 1 year parts warranty for £800, i was just wondering if anybody has any negatives that they know about these bikes since all i could find is positive (i know i should just trust the reviews)

That is quite an informative article, but I think the owner may be biased...

He says it has cost him £118 for 5 months commuting, where as the same in the car would have cost £1400

He then says that the bike does 120mpg.

So that means either he has exaggerated the figures or his car only does 10.1 mpg Laughing

As for the bike, I think they are ok. My brother and dad have had a couple of chinese bikes and as long as you look after them and make sure everything is tight they are generally ok.

My girlfriend has one. Paid £150 for it! genuinely nothing wrong with it except a bent handlebar, which has been sorted! Clueless seller haha.
Runs fine, seems quite happy, starts up instantly every time so far!
Can't beat it for £150, £800, well they're over £1k normally but for a little more you can get a CG with far more to be sure of.

Actually I've got a Haotian 125, but it's pretty much the same.

I've been keeping a note of what it does to the tank etc, and I reckon that I get about 100 to 120 miles to the gallon, and I have a tendancy to thrash it when I go out to play, so riding it carefully may make your petrol last a bit longer!! I usually fill up at around the 200 point, and generally put inabout 1.5 gallons (assuming that 1 gallon costs about £6)

I paid £350 for it late last year, and plan to sell it as soon as I've passed my test. I would hope to get about £400 (or more if I'm lucky)
From what I've seen, they seem to hold their price quite well, but then the 125 market is always quite buoyant, so really any 125 is a reasonable investment, and it's always gonna be cheaper than driving a car.

Might be including parking, congestion charge, road tax, insurance etc.

I had one for 3 years, and couldn't find much wrong with it. It was treated to lavish ACF-50, LocTite and spring washers out of the crate though, and kept garaged. I wouldn't fancy your chances of riding it through a UK winter in its natural state and leaving it out under a cover.

Look after it though and there's not much to go wrong. What might stuff you:

There's a connector block for the sidestand cut off switch that's placed right under the bike, in a prime location to corrode. Get in there with some silicone grease, at a minimum.

The RHS brake / exhaust hangar is prone to stress fractures around the hole where the brake pivot shaft goes through it. One owner had a catastrophic crash when hers gave way. Keep an eye on it. The Honda CM part reportedly fits, if you can find one.

Insurance is a bit of a pain, unlike the Lexmoto Vixen branding it doesn't appear on comparison site lists, which reduces your choices.

Oh, once the chain has stretched out, upping the front sprocket from 15 to 16 or 17 teeth (Honda CG sprocket, £5 delivered) makes the bike much more relaxed.
