I've seen much worse.

He'll probably have more problems as there is no T&T.

What gets me is that people have actually spent money to have that done to the bike.

I'd like to spend a shitload of money making my bike look cack, make a respray a No.1 necessity of any future buyer, reducing it's resale value and ease of sale. Can I do that? How much will it cost. How garish and undesirable can you make it look? Is projectile vomit from a potential purchaser actually possible?

They probably looked normal until someone held a mirror up to the bike's paintwork Wink

Insane eh? Laughing
Thinking about it though, how much would it cost to vinyl wrap those fairings with something opaque?

It could be a case of:

Wife: You better sell that bike, I hate the things!!
Under-the-thumb-biker: Can I please please keep it till the insurance runs out in a few months?
Wife: Well I suppose, but it goes soon as it runs out!!!
Under-the-thumb-biker: Thinks "I know, i'll get a horrible spray job and no-one will ever buy it"............

About £50 of vinyl to do the fairing lowers in plain gloss white if you did it yourself.

But then you'd be passing up the oppertunity to tell someone:

"I'll meet you next to my bike."

"How do I know which is yours?"

"Mine is the one that says 'Bad Motherfucker' on it."

Or go out to your bike and say:

"There's my Bad Motherfucker."

If you fancy it, keep your eye on it.

My XJ was on a classified for a good while at 900 quid; I snapped it up for less than half the original asking price, once the seller got bored and it went to a straight auction.

I'm pretty sure it was only the iffy paint job that put people off, had it been less 'individual', it would've made a lot more.

trouble with both those bikes is that underneath the shit is a(probably) good bike!

Having that kind of vomit sprayed on reduces the buyer window to only people that want to look like a cock, and maybe having thier insurance higher because its modified and possibly more stealable!...

I doubt id want to look that shit, and id quickly strip it off (but if its not burnt out then its easily recognisable.

I dont have a problem with personalising a bike but i like doing it in a SUBTLE way.
