Need Advice From Any Bikers in The Isle of Man.

Basically my bike was written off the other week. I Was only told this verbaly .

Anyhow, my problem is. The damage is purely cosmetic but, Omaha parts being the price they are, the repair bill was as much as the bike was worth.

The insurance company have paid out the finance company and what I Was owed.

My question is. I have no written confirmation that the bike was wrote off from anyone. Apart from scratches the bike is fine. I would like to keep the bike/buy it back and asked at the local insurers kestrel could I do this and the guys at the counter just had blank looks on their faces as they usually do.

Is this possible over here or am I best to contact Hiscox in The UK who it is actually insured with via kestrel.

Tried to find info on the net but nothing relating to the IOM regarding this as I know the laws are different here than the UK.

At the moment I have almost a free bike that has been paid off by the insurers but no-one has asked for and has been checked over as safe and rides as good as new.

Any advice From anyone over here would be really helpful as I don't know where I stand or what to do.
