Wasn't me. Sort of it being necessitated by losing more than one limb, I will never be seen riding a motorcycle with a side-appendage.

Somebody on a bike with sidecar was holding me and a lot of cars up on the way to ladybower earlier in the year. 35mph with loads of traffic on the other side of the road so not many places to overtake.

If it was an Enfield, cut it some slack, probably struggles to pull that sidecar along!

But they make up for it all with THAT noise. Oh I do love them.

Wotcha.

I had a similar paint job on my old BSA M21 outfit.

A 500cc Enfield bullet with a free breathing air filter, a loud pipe and the carb jetted to suit makes an optomistic 17bhp at the back wheel. Add a sidecar and a slight headwind and 35mph will be it going flat out.

I have no idea what it was as I don't know sidecars at all. Any coolness it did have, however, was immediately dismissed as the rider was wearing a dayglo jacket Laughing

I don't know him, but he's on the Sheffield Bikers forum, don't think he's on here though.

Is it a black one with a sprung seat? Lives in Nether Edge near the Byron if so...

Wotcha.

My M21 made 17bhp when new - considering it would happily burn out an exhaust valve every 18 months, then 17 bhp would be a good figure. Get it on a hill, such as the one leading away from Ladybower Reservoir ( Snake Pass, I think ) then 35 mph is a good 20 mph over the top. Embarassed I had to put mine into first gear at the first sign of a hill, then hold it on full throttle and crawl up at a sedate 15 mph or so. Any attempt to change into second, and the whole plot would just slow down even more. . . . . . all this combined with brakes that barely worked . . . if nothing else, it taught you the meaning of "safe braking distance", and you would never ride too close the the vehicle in front.
Despite all that, I enjoyed every mile I travelled on it Thumbs Up

It is yeah, on the way to Glossop/Manc. Was one of my favourite riding/driving roads. Then they made it a 50mph all the way Crying or Very sad
