On my way from work today - going down the middle of two lanes. Just as the lanes split, one going right, the other straight ahead, a lady decided to pull out from behind a taxi without indicating leaving me very little time to react.

I try to avoid her and brake at the same time. Then I slide along the side of a Landrover before bouncing over to the car that pulled out on me and hitting there before somehow making it between them both and ploughing into the car infront of the landrover...

Bike's clocks have shattered away. headlights are a mess, the seat cowl has been scratched and the seat came off. Bike won't start.

I came off with a little road rash. Not looking forward to the insurance on this one. BLAH.

Pictures to come.

If it had been my Landrover I would have chalked it up as a battle scar and given you a ride home. Hope you're ok?

Hornet clocks are expensive. If the innards are intact I probably have some cases and perhaps some other bits to get you back on the road if required.

I'm willing to be it won't start because of the headlight fuse, no idea why but it affects starting on Hornets.

Glad your OK, chin up Thumbs Up

Hi guys, I'm starting to feel it now, aching back, legs, arms, etc. but ultimately I'm alright, hospital told me to watch for the normal signs... concussion, peeing blood, etc etc lol

Pictures of my bike and my little road rash.

Was the green car moving or was it stationary behind the taxi before it pulled out?

There were large queues of cars down the road, so it'd have been a stop-start kinda thing so I can't be sure, I didn't take too much notice.

Reported it to my insurance this morning, see what they do.

I'll have a look at the clock insides when I get home from work today. Whenever I touch the front end it crumbles into pieces Laughing

I noticed there is a wire that looks like an American/European power plug (Two long round pins) that have appeared under the tank. Not sure what this is just yet as I haven't had a chance to investigate, but I'm thinking this is the reason for the failure to start.

OP; I bet that rash stings like buggery. Have you stuck a melanin dressing on it?

It does sting, but it's not unbearable. I think I have some melanin dressing, so might give it a try, cheers.

No offence mate, but I wouldn't take any advice from you as to what to do after a crash and definitely wouldn't contact some random company and expect a free hire bike... Rolling Eyes

Unlucky OP.

Nice one, I know he'd appreciate it. He's got enough to think about with getting his tank and tail repaired Sad

Been there, done that. Got mine back on the road after this:

I do hope you read all of the contract and not just the bit the guy pointed out to you. Indeed, did he just 'say' that? Have a google, it may concern you. Like;

McAMS seemed less interested in the incident and more interested in me signing papers giving them exclusive rights to the case. Their terms also included unpleasant statements such as "whilst you may attempt to recover our fees from the other side, you are ultimately responsible for payment" and "if at any point we believe that you do not have a realistic prospect of winning your case then we may terminate this agreement and you will be liable for our costs incurred up to that point". In fact, their bloke brought papers round to my house this morning. I asked him to clarify a few acronyms in the contract, and he couldn't. Also it said "this contract must be read in conjunction with the Law Society Guidance Document XYZ12345" and he couldn't give me a copy of that to read. I told him I couldn't sign the papers because of this.
