Beautifull day, great riding, dotting about looking for a helmet when "BANG" on the motorway. Looking at it on the lay by I couldn't figure out for a while what was wrong except something was missing. The spark plug had fucked off to somewhere or other! Then when new spark plug arrives another 10 miles down the road and I can suddenly change gear without clutch which is cool but im sure isn't healthy. Maybe someone stole my clutch and installed an automatic one. Lots of strange rattling and gurgles on top of that gives me the indication my bike is not all that well.

Probably best to arrange alternative trasport for the time being Sad strange rattles and gurgles can quickly turn into loud bangs and land you skiding donw the motorway on your ass while watching your bike fly over you to gracefully land in the centeral reservation...
Suffice to say don't ride it unless you HAVE to (like your going to have your ears burnt off by the mafia or something if you don't kind of situations) Hope you get it fixed soon...

I was quite concerned today when the bike was makeing allot of tappety noise, i just happened to remember somehting from another forum and checked the oil which was WAY lower than it should have been (below the min level) which would explain why it was getting warmer than it usually would at lights e.t.c.... quieter now, all fixed, hopefully yours will turn out to be somehting silly/cheep/easy to fix

Is it the right plug? gurgles and pops can be misfiring due to the wrong grade of plug.

Is the plug screwed in tight enough? Finger tight is not enough but for G's sake don't overtighten it and ruin the head.

Clutchless gearchanging isn't bad for the box going up, less good going down apparrently. Then again, if its a 125 its unlikely to do more than 30k miles of service in its lifetime, so you might as well wear the gearbox out along with the rest of the engine.

Ok the bike really does have a gremlin in it. Started it today and the clutch is fine, not so much squealing and gurgling but the rattles still there but i think its just a loose exhaust plate, need to find a mother of a jubilee clip.
