Been offered some Metzeler Interact K2 race scrubs, they'd be used on a CBR600RR for road use.

Been reading and people say that you just can't keep the heat in them on the road, anyone have any first hand experience?

I had Racetecs on the GSXR and used them to commute and got for weekend rides. They wear pretty fast but gave me amazing grip. Never had an issue aside from the <3000 mile to a rear.

They are fine, i've used race scrubs for years on the road, sure they might take abit longer to heat up but it was a compromise i was happy with

I use racetek interacts on my TL, never had an issue. Not fantastic in the wet but for the price I pay i cant fault them.

Agree with fisty to a degree, I pay £90 fitted for supercorsa scrubs with 6mm all over the rear and 4/5 on the front.

Sometimes if they aren't ridden on hard, they will be a tosser in the wet, but I've not really had any scary moments, you just know they aren't up to the working temp.

Oh and they leave fantastic black lines coming out of corners. I destroyed the right hand side of my last rear in less than 1000 miles Very Happy

i've been using pirelli supercorsa and metzler racetec race scrubs for the last few years and cant believe i used to waste so much money buying brand new tyres when these are just as good, if not better.

Never had a problem getting heat into them and they heat up faster and to a higher temp than the pilot power 2CT's did that came with the bike..

As above, I use scrubs all year round without an issue. I doubt the mileage would be great but I've no idea as I change them every 600 miles or so anyway and they've always still got loads of tread in the middle.

I'm hoping to do this when it comes time to change, I'd like another set of Supercorsas! Just don't want to pay new price!

They are softer rubber than normal tyres which makes them grippier and wear quicker than normal tyres.

They get even more grippy when they are up to temperature, but I still believe that a cold race scrub is grippier than a cold standard tyre.

However, don't be like me and buy a stack of race scrubs, and then keep them in your garden for ages expecting them to be fine when you get round to using them.

To be fair I probably had them quite a while, possibly a year or more.
