About 10 years ago I heard a strike hit a local sub station about 150 meters away. The sound was stunning i swear it blew the curtains it was so loud! Videos could never do the crack of bass justice.
If i were that guy i'd be diving head first into the nearest car and declaring my underpants a write off Laughing

about 6/7 years ago the house about 5 along from me was struck, is in full line of sight to my house. It blew the back of the house and conservatoty off, set off slarms and blew fuses etc. Bloody lous and lit the street up followed by fire brigade power companies etc
