After nearly crashing the might GS125 a couple of times due the the front brake being shocking I decided to investigate why they were so bad. I took the drum, yes front drum, apart to find the inside completely covered in brake dust and the shoes extremely shiny. I tried roughing them up but no joy so I fitted my new ones. OMG! I can actually stop now! I even got round to changing my rapidly balding back tyre and now I can go round corners, out on the 'power' on without fishtailing!

Just need a real bike now!

Take it easy with the brakes while your bedding in, otherwise they will be uneven in places...
Bit late now but don't forget allot of companys (as far as i know) use asbestos in the pads, so breathing in the dust is not a good idea at all...

having bike like this makes you appreciate your new one 100000 times more, bigger bikes are a world away from small frighteningly wobbly 125s... its worth the wait and hassle..

My dad (used to work with it) used to know allot of people who though masks were stupid, they are mostly all dead, any that aren't are dieing unpleasantly, its serious stuff is asbestos...

Anyways, have you decided on a new bike? Theres nothing quite like opening the throttle on your new bike for the first time and it blasting you towards the horizon accross a long stretch of reasonably straight
country road at an alarming rate Cool It still makes me laugh like a loon Laughing

It's looking more and more likely I'll be getting a 600 Bandit of 600 Hornet depending on my finances and what magic Danny can work on my insurance! Getting my licence would help too, got my theory on the 19th June so should get my licence before summer is out!

It isn't used in any brake pads any more, it was banned quite some time ago.
